My name is Lindsay Hook and I hold a BA in graphic design from California State University, Chico. I work as a freelance designer and illustrator from my home studio in Northern California with my husband, two kids, and chocolate Labrador.

I worked for several years as a graphic designer before starting my freelance business Off the Hook Studio in 2019. A year later, I opened up my online shop, Lantern Print Co. to design and sell my own products.

My work includes a lot of whimsical and magical themes, with storybook, folkloric, and fantasy influences. My subject matter includes botanicals, creatures, diverse characters, and moody color palettes.

Most of my work is created digitally in Procreate, a process that begins with a rough sketch and slowly builds through layers of color and texture. Using custom brushes that mimic traditional media like gouache, colored pencil, and ink, I strive to create pieces that feel warm, tactile, and enchanting.

On my days off you will find me daydreaming about booping springy mushrooms in the forest, binging my latest book series, baking bread, finding new hobbies, or planning my next adventure with my family.

I currently run a Patreon for sending exclusive monthly prints to my followers, sell my products wholesale, and occasionally take on commissioned work. I also offer licensing on my pattern work, check out some of it here.
